Work
Projects
I work across all the stages below, from planning through deployment and operation. Each project lists the stages I covered.
The stages I work in
- Planning
- Drew up the mid- to long-term vision, roadmap, and business plan that executives and business units based their decisions on.
- Research
- Surveyed technologies, markets, and literature to choose which technologies to use and how to proceed.
- Proof of concept
- Built small prototypes to test whether the technology works and whether it can become a business.
- Requirements definition
- Worked with stakeholders to identify requirements, and wrote the business and system requirements.
- Design
- Handled service and experience design, screen and information design, and cloud architecture.
- Implementation
- Built the cloud infrastructure and applications hands-on, from prototype to production.
- Measurement
- Quantified impact through behavioral-log metrics, RCTs, and evaluation platforms.
- Deployment and operation
- Ran the service in production, stood up the department, and handed it over to business units and frontline staff.
The stages map to human-centred design (ISO 9241-210) and innovation management (ISO 56002).

Marketing support for a healthcare company app
2026
I formulated the mid- to long-term marketing strategy and produced the KPI design, requirements definition, and user journey maps. I ran the alignment across the departments involved and supported requirements gathering and definition for the app.
Stages: Planning (Mid- to long-term marketing strategy and support for executing it) / Requirements definition (Support for app requirements gathering and definition) / Design (KPI design; user journey maps)
-
Financial institution BtoC contract process redesign
2025–2026
I drew up the mid- to long-term vision and migration roadmap on a three-to-five-year horizon, handled service design, and supported requirements gathering and definition. I led the work from UX concept through per-touchpoint screen design.
Stages: Planning (Mid- to long-term vision and migration roadmap on a three-to-five-year horizon) / Requirements definition (Support for requirements gathering and definition) / Design (Service design; As-Is / To-Be user journey maps, UX concept, screen design) / Deployment and operation (Built UX-based criteria into the client's decision-making process)
-
Generative AI in education R&D
2023–2025
I owned this end to end, from the technology survey through impact measurement: a prototype in Firebase + TypeScript and an evaluation platform on GCP.
Stages: Research (Technology survey) / Proof of concept (PoC planning and classroom use-case scenarios) / Design (Interaction design that supports learning efficiency and motivation) / Implementation (Firebase + TypeScript prototype) / Measurement (Evaluation platform on GCP and user interviews)
-
Peer-effect cohort learning
2022–2025
I built a community app on a Firebase + TypeScript serverless stack and ran it in production, then handed the results over to a business unit.
Stages: Planning (Online community concept) / Research (Literature and market research, technology selection) / Design (Serverless architecture and learning scenarios) / Implementation (App and analytics platform on Firestore and Vue / Nuxt.js) / Measurement (Behavioral-log metrics; working out how to evaluate peer influence) / Deployment and operation (Developed and operated, then transferred to a business unit)
-
Turning inquiry-based courses into an online business
2021–2025
I took an online project-based learning (PBL) course for junior high students and an inquiry course for elementary students end to end, from the business plan and service design through system and content development to running them. The junior high course became part of the company's flagship lineup.
Stages: Planning (Business plan) / Design (Service design) / Implementation (System and learning-material development) / Deployment and operation (Operation; made it a flagship product and rolled out its core technologies to other business units)
-
Behavioral design R&D for learning retention
2021–2022
I researched what keeps learners going, framed as behavioral design. In the second half I brought in generative AI (digital human technology) and built a system that proposes individual interventions based on each learner's progress and understanding.
Stages: Design (Individual interventions keyed to progress and understanding) / Implementation (Intervention system using generative AI (Vue / Nuxt.js, Firebase))
-
Company-wide R&D strategy
2020–2025
I built the company-wide R&D roadmap for business growth three to ten years out and put it to the executive team as the technology strategy. I then drove the R&D projects they approved.
Stages: Planning (3–10 year R&D roadmap proposed to executives) / Research (Research on next-generation learning technologies and learning theory) / Proof of concept (Carried out R&D under the approved strategy)
-
Multimodal emotion analysis system
2020–2021
I built a system that integrated facial analysis on Azure Cognitive Services, and a model that predicts instructor ratings from voice and facial data.
Stages: Research (Accuracy and coverage of existing technologies) / Proof of concept (Visualizing emotion from voice and facial data) / Implementation (Azure Cognitive Services and Python) / Measurement (Correlation with learning outcomes; prediction of instructor ratings) / Deployment and operation (Integration into the production service)
Instructor management effort down 40% YoY, customer satisfaction up 2 percentage points YoY
-
IoT / LPWA new business development
2018–2019
I took this from a technology survey of IoT, LPWA, and projection mapping through building the sensor devices, the processing platform, and the integration APIs, and ran the PoC.
Stages: Planning (Service planning, business plan, investment decision) / Research (Technology and market research) / Proof of concept (Business validation) / Design (Dynamic pricing based on demand forecasting) / Implementation (Sensor devices, GCP processing platform, APIs)
-
University library app with SSO
2016–2018
I ran this end to end, from estimates and requirements definition through visual design, system design, development, and operation. I implemented single sign-on with campus systems and AI book recommendations based on borrowing history.
Stages: Requirements definition (Requirements definition) / Design (Visual design and single sign-on architecture) / Implementation (App and AI book recommendations) / Deployment and operation (Operation and improvement proposals from usage data)
-
SaaS growth hacking
2016–2018
I implemented admin panel improvements, adopted AWS Athena early to build the log analysis foundation, and used RCTs to measure what each change actually did.
Stages: Requirements definition (Support for requirements definition (estimates as well, in a presales role)) / Implementation (Admin panel improvements, location data analysis) / Measurement (RCTs and log analysis with AWS Athena) / Deployment and operation (Helped launch the customer success team; set up KPIs and analysis procedures)
-
Notification system for regional banks
2016
As project leader, I ran the project from estimates through high-level and detailed design, development, testing, and maintenance, and set a design policy that balanced security with usability.
Stages: Design (Design policy balancing security and usability) / Implementation (Development and testing) / Deployment and operation (Maintenance and operation)
Adopted by 23 regional banks
